I act as an outreach officer for Mathematics at the University of Southampton. Amongst other activities we coordinate talks in schools for pupils around the Hampshire area, organise the annual Mathematics Challenge event to challenge the brightest students in the south of England, and provide mathematics activities for the university’s science and engineering festival.
Maths at the Movies
Dr Thomas Woolley and I, together with the mysterious Liz, perform the fabulous popular mathematics podcast, “Maths at:”. We take a rather silly look at all areas of mathematics and statistics, our first series focusing on “Maths at: The Movies”.
